Free Original Enfys Crochet Patterns

Angelmouse

Use whatever yarn you want too, with appropriate size hook. DK and 3.50mm hook makes length about 2 ins not including tail. You can use beads for the eyes and nose if you prefer. Thread the beads on before starting the body and add nose in the very first ch and the eyes in row 4 at stitches 4 and 7. You can leave off the wings for an ordinary mouse.

 

UK Instructions

Wings
Row 1:  Ch 15, dc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next 13 ch, turn. (14 sts)
Row 2:  Ch 3, tr in next dc, htr in next 2 dc, dc in next 2 dc, ss in next 2 dc, dc in next 2 dc, htr in next 2 dc, tr in next 2 dc, turn. (14 sts)
Row 3:  Ch 1, dc2tog, dc in next 10 sts, dc2tog, turn. (12 sts)
Row 4:  Ch 3, tr in same dc, htr in next 2 dc, dc in next 2 dc, ss in next 2 dc, dc in next 2 dc, htr in next 2 dc, 2 tr in next dc, turn. (14 sts)
Row 5:  Ch 1, dc in next 14 sts, fasten off. (14 sts)

Body
Starting at nose.
Row 1:  Ch 2, 2 dc in 1st ch, mark as right side, turn. (2 sts)
Row 2:  Ch 1, 2 dc in each dc, turn. (4 sts)
Row 3:  Ch 1, 2 dc in each dc, turn. (8 sts)
Row 4:  Ch 1, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc, turn. (10 sts)
Row 5:  Ch 1, dc in next 3 dc, make ear (dc in next dc, ch 5, tr in 3rd ch from hook, dtr in next ch, htr in next ch, dc in same dc), dc in next 2 dc, make ear as above, dc in next 3 dc, turn. (12 sts & 2 ears)
Row 6:  Ch 1, dc in next 4 dc, miss ear making sure it is held to the right side of work, dc in next 4 dc, miss ear making sure it is held to the right side of work, dc in next 4 dc, turn.  (12 sts)
Rows 7-10:  Ch 1, dc in each dc, turn.
Row 11:  Ch 1, dc2tog, dc in next 2 dc, dc2tog twice, dc in next 2 dc, dc2tog, turn. (8 sts)
Row 12:  Ch 1, dc2tog 4 times, turn. (4 sts)
Row 13:  Ch 1, dc2tog twice, fasten off. (2 sts)
Sew wings in place (if required).

Base
Starting at nose.
Row 1:  Ch 2, 2 dc in 1st ch, turn. (2 sts)
Row 2:  Ch 1, 2 dc in each dc, mark as right side, turn. (4 sts)
Row 3:  Ch 1, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, turn. (6 sts)
Rows 4-10:  Ch 1, dc in each dc, turn.
Row 11:  Ch 1, dc2tog, dc in next 2 dc, dc2tog, turn. (4 sts)
Row 12:  Ch 1, dc2tog twice, turn. (2 sts)
Row 13:  Ch 1, dc2tog, do not fasten off. (1 st)

Place base against body with wrong sides facing, ch 1, work dc all around working through both pieces, working extra at the nose. Stuff before completing.

Tail: Ch 20, ss in 2nd ch from hook, ss in next 18 ch, ss to 1st dc of edging, fasten off and sew in ends.

If you have not used beads, embroider features.
