Crochet Doodling

Materials
I used Size 10 thread and a 2.00mm hook.  But you can use anything you want to.

UK Instructions

1st Side:  Ch 13, ss in 2nd ch from hook, htr in next ch, tr in next ch, htr in next ch, dc in next ch, *ch 20, ss in 2nd ch from hook, htr in next ch, tr in next ch, htr in next ch, dc in next ch, rep from *.

When the length is as long as you want it (bearing in mind it “shrinks” about 25%), work the 2nd side back along the 1st side.

2nd Side:  Ss in next 7 ch, *ch 6, ss in 2nd ch from hook, htr in next ch, tr in next ch, htr in next ch, dc in next ch,  ss in next 7 ch, miss leaf, ss in next 7 ch rep from * to end, fasten off and sew in ends.

US Instructions

1st Side:  Ch 13, slst in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, *ch 20, slst in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, rep from *.

When the length is as long as you want it (bearing in mind it “shrinks” about 25%), work the 2nd side back along the 1st side.

2nd Side:  slst in next 7 ch, *ch 6, slst in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, slst in next 7 ch, miss leaf, slst in next 7 ch rep from * to end, fasten off and sew in ends.

To make the corner branches.

Do not fasten off, just repeat sides 1 and 2 until you have enough branches, then fasten off.

When you get the hang of this, you can add as many branches in as many places as you want to.

To make the side branches.

Just start another side 1 part way along the side 2.  Then work the side until you get back to where you have branched off and carry on the side 2 on the main branch.
