Irish Trefoil Poncho
A lacy poncho in an Irish Crochet Style

Irish Lace is traditionally worked in fine thread with a very small hook.  This beautiful craft was originally developed in 19th century Ireland as a method of imitating expensive Venetian point laces. Individual motifs were made and pinned to a pattern printed on fabric.  They were then joined together using a filling stitch or “ground”. This Poncho is worked using yarn and a larger hook.  The motifs used, although based on traditional patterns, have been altered to accommodate today's style of crochet. £1.95 Please state UK or US Terms
